I am a New York City–based writer and editor with 18 years of experience in print and digital publications. I’ve covered a wide variety of topics and interviewed everyone from pop stars to scientists.
I contribute as a freelancer to a variety of websites, including The Agit Reader, DealNews, Van Winkle’s, Lifescript and Everup. My work also has appeared on CMJ, The Huffington Post, The Christian Science Monitor, DailyWorth, Brooklyn Based, GetInsured, Addiction.com and The Local, The New York Times’ blog covering the Brooklyn neighborhoods of Fort Greene and Clinton Hill, and in print in The Red Hook Star-Revue, Music’s Bottom Line, Shape and Vegetarian Times.
Recently, I served as social media director and a writer at ih8exercise.com, a website devoted to helping exercise haters become fitness lovers. During the launch of health and wellness concept Aloha, I wrote, edited, uploaded and developed content Aloha’s online magazine as the content manager.
For five years, I worked at VIVmag, a digital magazine for women, where my responsibilities included overseeing the nutrition section and a recurring feature about web media, as well as generating and editing content for the magazine’s website, including online features, recipes and contests. I was also responsible for the VIV Says blog, assigning, editing, writing and uploading all content, which included coverage of health, entertainment, fitness, beauty, fashion and other lifestyle topics. I also managed VIVmag’s social media.
Before working at VIV, I was employed at Columbus Monthly, Columbus, Ohio’s premier city magazine, for nearly 10 years. There, I amassed a wealth of experience covering home design and decor, gardening, entertaining and dining.
I also have a personal blog, and, because all my hobbies eventually seem to lead back to writing, I also help out with my community garden’s website, and I have also contributed to The Collard Courier, the blog of the Red Hook CSA.
